Since we began, La Boîte Rouge VIF has produced a significant collection of audiovisual archives from projects developed in partnership with Indigenous communities in Quebec and beyond. In a context where oral tradition is the primary mode of transmission of Indigenous histories and cultures, preserving and enhancing our archives increases potential to learn about the history of First Peoples in their own voices.
In 2024, La BRV launched a project to ensure the continuity and accessibility of these archives for present and future generations. In this collection of twelve videos, we recount our archival journey to date, with the intention of sharing lessons learned through the process.
